Editing, Post-Editing & Proofreading

Editing

In today’s competitive market, correct language and idiomatic expressions are essential to get your message across. Well‑written documents will make you stand out from the rest. Whether we need to look through a magnifying glass or even a microscope, we'll make sure your material makes the right impression.

Post-Editing (MTPE)

Evolve or die. The pressure to produce extensive content in record time at reasonable costs mounts every day. With our help, you don't have to run away from machine translations for fear of sacrificing quality standards; we'll post-edit any machine translation so the outcome is as close as possible to a human translation.

Proofreading

Our microscope definitely comes in handy when it comes to proofreading —that (almost) final step before your content is published. Our linguists have been extensively trained to look for everything from typos to quotation marks, layout, punctuation, page numbers, headers and footers, capitalization, apostrophes, and more.

Formatting & Desktop Publishing (DTP)

Translation work consists of only that: conveying your text in another language. But what about the layout? Most translators are not trained to deliver your documents in the same layout as the original. We understand that this can be frustrating and time consuming, especially when you are trying to get your flyers, website, brochures, forms, or any other content ready in no time. Being translations as time consuming as they are, you really cannot afford the extra time it will take you to get your material formatted like the original.

Whether you have a flyer, brochure, presentation, catalog, magazine, or any other document format, we work closely with our experienced designers, who will get your material ready by your deadline.

Quality Inspection

Quality Inspection

Quality Inpection is key to deliver accurate and well-written translations. Besides addressing and fixing residual errors, with this service we measure, evaluate, and provide feedback on translated texts using our own propietary form or any other evaluation form routinely used or preferred by a client. In our form, we classify quality issues according to the following categories:
• Accuracy — this category is sub-divided into spelling, punctuation, wrong term, wrong meaning (mistranslations), omissions, and unnecessary/inappropiate additions or embelishments;
• Structural errors — here we carefully assess the structure of sentences and look for any grammatical errors;
• Style — natural language is reviewed to make sure the translated text flows as if it was originally written in the target language. We also review any client guidelines (for example, with regard to dates or currency formats, acronyms, dosages, etc.) and assess the linguist's compliance with them; and,
• Miscellaneous — any other errors or potential accuracy issues that cannot be attributed to other categories are included here.
In addition, each error or potential issue is rated as preferential, minor, major or critical, and based on these ratings and on other factors, such as number of words and number of errors, a final score is assigned to the text.

Back Translation, Comparative Review & Linguistic Validation

Back Translation

Why would you need to translate your translation back to the original language? Mostly used in medical settings and to meet regulatory requirements, back translations can be a useful tool when one is unable to understand the forward translation sufficiently to verify the content. With a back translation it is possible to determine if the forward translation conveys the intended meaning without needing to read or understand the forward translation.

Comparative Review

With this service we generate a report that compares your original text with the back translation to look for discrepancies where the meaning is ambiguous or slightly different and make adjustments as needed to optimize your final translation. The deliverables under this service are the reviewed/reconciled translation, which is optimized for accuracy and equivalence of meaning, as well as the comparative review/reconciliation report.

Linguistic Validation

Complex set of processes aimed at achieving utmost accuracy. Simply explained, the original document is simultaneously translated by two linguists. The best of both translations is combined and edited by a third linguist, and this harmonized version is translated back to the original language. The comparative review step follows, and the resulting optimized translation is reviewed for accuracy by a professional in the field whose native language is the target language.

Translation Memory (TM) Solutions

If consistent terminology and the right vocabulary are important to you, then a translation memory might be a suitable solution. A translation memory allows you to centralize previously translated content into a multilingual content repository and reuse it in future translations. With a translation memory you can drastically cut the amount of new translation that is required, and therefore, the time and costs involved.

Transcription

Transcriptions allow you to convert speech into written language. We provide literal or natural transcription services for various industries, including accounting and finance, legal, medical, technology, among others. Whether you need that earnings call transcribed whithin a few hours or you can afford to wait a few days, we've got you covered. Additional services include faster turnarounds, speaker identification, and time stamping.

Interpretation

We make arrangements with qualified interpreters to provide you with remote or in‑person interpretation anywhere, at anytime. Our interpreters are trained to listen to the speakers, analyze the message, and accurately convey the meaning to the recipient of the message —either simultaneously or consecutively— without omissions, additions or embellishments, but making sure the exchanges are not literal, but rather meaning for meaning.
